My Journey

Discovery and Decision

My journey began on April 19th, 2021, when I received the diagnosis of Stage 4 Colon Cancer with numerous metastases to the liver. Confronted with the harsh reality of a 14% survival rate after five years, I stood at a crossroads, facing critical decisions about my treatment path.

Navigating Choices

My initial consultation with the oncologist presented me with two diverging paths, each demanding careful consideration. The choice between a palliative approach to alleviating symptoms and enhancing the quality of life versus an aggressive treatment regimen with uncertain outcomes lay before me, challenging my resolve and resilience.

Embrace the Suck

This was happening to a man who is married and had three teenage children. I had spent my entire adult life as a high school and college football coach. I played multiple sports growing up. All of these things taught me many life lessons. Among them mental toughness and the will to fight when things are not going your way. My decision... I chose to FIGHT! I am the 14%.

Empowering Purpose

My goal with this foundation is to give my family's battle with cancer a purpose and use my platform as a former coach to raise awareness and extend support to other families grappling with similar challenges. I hope that you will join me.
